Best Banana French Toast Recipe  

Simply put, banana french toast is buttery bread soaked in luscious banana custard and fried to golden perfection. Chopped nuts and caramelised bananas top it.   

– 4 - 5 slices of thick buttery bread – 1 large very ripe banana – 2 large egg – ¼ cup milk – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon – 2 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter for frying – 2 large firm bananas, sliced into round – 2 tablespoons unsalted butter – 4 tablespoons light brown sugar


Mash the ripe banana with a few lumps in a big dish. Eggs, milk, vanilla essence, and ground cinnamon should be mixed properly.   


Dip both sides of each slice of toast in banana custard. While the skillet, griddle, or pan heats up, soak the bread pieces in the custard for 5 minutes.  


Put butter on a skillet, griddle, or pan. Heat the pan on medium until the butter melts and sizzles. Swirl butter around the pan to coat the bottom.  


Add 2–3 banana toast slices to the pan. Fry one side of banana french toast for 2–4 minutes until golden brown. Repeat banana toast bread flipping.  


Serve banana french toast on a dish. Clean the pan if needed. Butter and brown sugar should melt completely in the pan over low-medium heat.   


Sugar bubbles slightly. Once this happens, place sliced bananas from two firm bananas in the pan.  


Cook banana slices for 2–3 minutes, turn, and repeat. Chopped nuts can be added at the end and cooked for 1–2 minutes.   


Plate banana french toast pieces and spoon caramelised bananas and almonds on top. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, add warm maple syrup or whipped cream, and enjoy!
