"F— Trae Young!" chants filled the streets of New York after the Knicks beat the 76ers in Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Playoffs.  

You could have been under the impression that Young was a member of the 76ers, but he is not really.

The 20-year-old player has been a member of the Hawks for all six seasons of his National Basketball Association career. His most recent game at Madison Square Garden was on December 7, 2022.

There were a lot of "F— Trae Young!" chants on social media during the Knicks' 2024 playoff start. It won't be the last time.What you need to know about how New York feels about Young.  

Knicks fans don't like Young because of the NBA Playoffs in 2021.The fifth-seeded Hawks played the fourth-seeded Knicks in the first round. Young led Atlanta to a five-game season win over New York.

The three-time All-Star did a good job. He shot 44.1% from the field and averaged 29.2 points and 9.8 assists per game.

In Game 1, Young scored 32 points, 10 assists, and a game-winning floater to take home-court advantage. In Game 2, Knicks fans chanted "F— Trae Young!" which amused him.

Young came up big in Game 5 to win the series with 36 points. After a deep 3-pointer in the game's closing minute, he bowed to the Madison Square Garden fans, adding insult to injury.

Since then, Knicks fans have seen Young as a bad guy, which is why they keep chanting "F— Trae Young!""That was loud. "It was crazy," Young said about the 2021 season on JJ Redick's show.
