Jalen Suggs injury update: Magic guard returns after scary Game 2 collision with Donovan Mitchell

After Saturday's Game 1 loss to the Cavaliers, Jalen Suggs' withdrawal from Game 2 made the Magic's first-round playoff series against them much tougher.  

Following the injury to his left leg that he sustained less than eleven minutes into Game 2, Suggs needed assistance to make his way to the locker room.

In spite of the fact that he came back in the third quarter, the Magic were defeated by a score of 96-86 and will be returning to their home court down 2-0 in the series.

The 22-year-old guard averaged 12.6 points in his third NBA season, improving his 3-point shooting and defence, which he showed in both games of the series.Suggs' injury and future status are updated here.  

Suggs suffered a left knee injury and went down in the first quarter of Game 2 on Tuesday. The injury occurred as a result of a collision between his legs and Donovan Mitchell of Cleveland.

Suggs was assisted by Magic officials on his way to the locker room, and the third-year guard did not put any weight on his leg during the journey.

The Magic said that Suggs has a pain in his left knee. The team said it was uncertain if Suggs would be able to return to the game, but he did so for the third quarter.

There wasn't much room for error for the Magic at break, even with Suggs back on the court. They were down 14 points.

After Suggs' injury, Cole Anthony played nine minutes in the first half after 11 in Game 1. He went 0-for-3 in the first half as Orlando struggled offensively.

Game 1 was tough for Suggs, who scored 13 points on 4-of-16 shooting. In 29 minutes, he had nine points, six rebounds, and five assists in Game 2.

During the regular season, Suggs played in 75 games, which was a new high for him. Even though he hurt his knee in Game 2, he plans to be back on the court for Game 3.
