Vanilla Cake with Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting

This Vanilla Cake with Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting is perfectly moist, easy and airy vanilla cake with filling made of vanilla cream cheese and heavy whipping cream.

INGREDIENTS

– 2 cups all-purpose flour – 1 cup granulated sugar – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened – 2 large egg – 1 cup whole milk – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – 2 teaspoons baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon salt

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

Step 2

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Step 3

Stir in vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.

Step 4

Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 5

Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Step 6

For the frosting, whip together 8 oz cream cheese, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth. Spread frosting over cooled cakes and enjoy!
